OBEDIENCE - SOCIALIZATION - SCENT TRACE
Training a dog requires a basic knowledge of the psychology of dogs and the way dogs learn in order to be able to approach the training process as well as possible. Dogs learn in two ways: learning through association and learning through experience.
Dogs, like humans, are interactive beings that, through proper socialization, develop and shape future behavior and a healthy relationship with the environment. The socialization of a dog begins while it is still a puppy when its brain absorbs information like a sponge. The puppy in the first four months of life intensively adopts experiences and events around him, and if they are positive, then there is a greater chance that the dog in adulthood will be calm, obedient and less timid.
Although dogs cannot produce human sounds to communicate, it does not mean that they do not understand human words. An obedient dog responds to given orders and obeys the owner, and in order for a dog to be more than that, it is necessary to build a strong relationship created through dedicated work and upbringing.
Dogs have much stronger sense of smell than a human, so it is not surprising that a man often relies on a dog’s nose. Because of their ability to identify different odors, dogs cooperate with humans in roles such as search dogs, police dogs, hunting dogs or truffle dogs.
The dog is a key human collaborator in finding precious underground mushrooms – truffles. Most hunting dogs can be trained to find truffles, while the most successful breeds for such training are lagotto romagnolo and labradors. These dogs must be trained in the field where there are truffles.
