Scent Trace

Dogs have much stronger sense of smell than a human, so it is not surprising that a man often relies on a dog’s nose. Because of their ability to identify different odors, dogs cooperate with humans in roles such as search dogs, police dogs, hunting dogs or truffle dogs.

Scent Trace training encompasses a lot of different skills. Basically, a trained dog should detect desired scents. It is recommended that the dogs are already obedient and socialized. If they’re not, some basic training should be conducted before the Scent Trace training. We can train:

  • Hunting dogs (blood trace),
  • Truffle dogs,
  • Search & Rescue dogs,
  • Explosives and firearms detection dogs,

Before the start of the training, a live dog assessment is needed. Since this is a more complex training, the minimum required days is hard to predict and is fully dependant of dog’s willingness to cooperate. For the first 7 days of training the dog owner will get basic education on how to train the dog by himself and probably multiple rounds of training will be needed.

MINIMUM TRAINING DAYS: 7

DOG AGE: Up to 3 years old

FCI (BREED) RESTRICTIONS: Some restrictions could apply. Request a quote for your dog.

TRAINING COMBINATIONS: Can be combined with socialization training and obedience training.
